About FBGR
The Goldens We Wanted to Hunt With—and Come Home To.
We didn't set out simply to breed Golden Retrievers. FBGR grew from years spent training, hunting, raising, and living with working dogs—and from a clear vision of the kind of Golden we wanted beside us in both the field and our home.

A Trainer's Eye. A Family's Perspective.
We're Tyce and Rachel Erickson, and FBGR grew out of the life we were already living—raising five kids on our little farm in West Mountain, hunting through the fall and winter, and spending nearly every other waking moment with dogs.
Tyce brings the professional trainer's eye to our breeding program. Through Utah Bird Dog Training, he has spent nearly two decades professionally training gun dogs and obedience dogs, working with thousands of dogs of all breeds, drives, and temperaments. That experience has given him an unusually clear picture of what makes a dog truly trainable—and what sets the best dogs apart from good ones.
Rachel is the keeper of both the big picture and all the little details. She manages much of the breeding calendar, pedigree research, health-testing records, puppy applications, and waitlist communication. Her care and thoroughness ensure that nothing falls through the cracks and that every family we work with feels informed, respected, and supported.
We make our breeding decisions together, combining Tyce's experience evaluating and training working dogs with Rachel's attention to pedigrees, health, puppy development, and family fit. We aren't trying to produce the most puppies or fill the most waitlists—we are trying to produce the kind of dogs we are proud to put our name on, in numbers we can care for well.
That balance is what we keep working toward with every generation—and it is why we remain incredibly selective about the dogs and pairings that carry the FBGR name.

“We breed selectively for healthy, capable Golden Retrievers that can excel in the field, keep up with an active family, and become deeply connected lifelong companions.”
